The Chair for Strategy and Organisation (Prof. Dr. Isabell M. Welpe) is currently offering the following thesis topic (Master’s degree):
Organizing for Creativity and Innovation
How Team Climate for Innovation influences Team Performance
Background.
Workplace creativity exhibited by individuals and teams is a key driver of organizational innovation and success, as it enables organizations to thrive in dynamic environments, respond to unforeseen challenges, and proactively develop new capabilities. However, for creative behavior and innovation to flourish, the organizational climate present within a team is a vital factor. Team Climate for Innovation (e.g. Anderson & West, 1996) consists of the following four sub-dimensions:
- participative safety
- vision
- support for innovation
- task orientatio
Although is one of the most frequently investigated types of climate, evidence of its validity and its influence on Team Performance has been inconsistent.
Purpose.
Analysis of the role of Team Climate for Innovation and its four sub-dimensions as reflected in the team climate inventory (TCI; Anderson & West, 1998) in influencing Team Performance. Investigation of the influence of potential moderator variables altering the climate-performance relationship.
- Review of current literature / bibliography on specific topic
