Can we transfer results from marriage research to start up teams? Breakthrough research (e.g., by John Gottman ) can predict which couples remain together and which will divorce with 94% accuracy. In this research project, we aim to explore how to utilize matching algorithms to achieve the same accuracy in predictions for start up teams success.
In his research on marriages, John Gottman et al found re emerging patterns which predict divorces and unhappiness of as well as trust within couples Investigating related interactions which happen between team members, we may help to predict which teams remain stable and capable of performing over the long term and which may resolve early
As most start up teams fail not because of a poor business model but interpersonal differences, this can be crucial for understanding start up performance.
